Panasonic ES8043SC Pro-Curve Pivot Action Linear Wet/Dry Shaver By Kevin R. Geil (Costa Mesa, CA USA) - This Panasonic shaver has performed just fine for me over the last 5 weeks. I have bone-dry skin and develop a light peach-fuzz beard in 3 to 4 days. I use a little splash of "Williams Lectric Shave" on my mug and a few minutes later make a few passes over my entire face. The Panasonic gives me a smoothly shaved surface over my cheeks, jawbone and neck. It is considerably louder than some other rotary shavers but, I genuinely like the shave. By Is it So who knows "Opinion Oky" (LI NY USA) - It's all been said so I'll just add. 1. Wet/Dry works but even water helps irritation burn, I use water and I get less irritation. (Only used it a few times) 2. Close shave (I've used other shavers this is better) but don't tell me its as close as a razor; however it's close enough, very good if not excellent. 3. I've had no razor pull at all but after shave lotion is needed. If they had 1/2 stars Id give this product 4 1/2 stars. By Michael J. Tian (MO) - Alright there are plenty of good reviews here so I will keep mine quick and simple. Pros: 1) It recharges fast, feels light and good grip. 2) The pivot head makes simple to shave around the neck. Cons: 1) Feels cheap. I am comparing it with my Norelco. 2) Charger: Its HUGE! Again comparing to my Norelco. 3) Bag: Its the cheapest thing I've EVER seen. Useless. My Norelco came with a nice leather bag and had a tight fit around my razor. 4) No battery meter: Although it claims to have a 5 minute emergency charge. With this said, I regret not getting the cheaper ES4026 that was highly recommended by consumer reports. By N. Wilson "DeathOfSelf" (Chicago) - For those of you who have never used an electric razor, this style of razor (linear) gives a much closer shave than the 3 blade rotor razors at the cost of a little comfort. It is important to alow your skin to get used to your new razor (about 2 weeks). I use this on my head and my face and it works great for both. It gives a nice close shave and is fairly comfortable. The only downside is that you can't use ot while it's pluged in since it's a wet/dry razor so once the battery dies it's useless. By Michael J. Cuneo (Baltimore, MD USA) - This is the first electric shaver I've tried in a long time. I've always had facial hair that just wasn't easy to shave with electric. This shaver does a pretty good job. While it doesn't get the smooth feeling shave of a razor, it does get close enough that I appear completely and closely shaved to the eye. Only by touch can I feel any stubble. It holds a charge well. Is easy to clean so I don't see why you would need a special cleaning unit. I merely pop the the top off and rinse it and the inner blades off while in the shower. Takes a few seconds. I like that I can use it in the shower, where I'm accustomed to doing my shaving. By Sandwiches Just So "SJS" (NY, NY - USA) - I recently shifted from 20 years of using norelco rotary razors to this foil shaver. It gives a much closer shave...so close that I've gotten a few nicks from it. However, it's not fast. Since it seems to work much like a conventional razor, you do have to draw it slowly accross your skin. It does take fewer passes than my old norelco, but overall it seems like a slower but closer shave. It cleans-up easily, but you have to empty the cuttings and clean the head every other or every third day. A bit more involved to get really clean but so far I like it. |
